A real live tuatara in the live exhibit inside the museum - or so they said. I didn't see it move. Not even a blink, eye movement or nervous twitch. The average lifespan is about 60 years, but they can live to be over 100 years old. This one is believed to have been born in the late 19th century.

Yes, it was Labour Day. Not that I noticed. There weren't any parades that I knew of. Just some things closed.
