I have neglected this blog for several years, posting to Facebook instead. I got tired of Facebook and posted less and less. So...I decided to come back to this blog to post my travel pictures and experiences. Stay tuned, new adventures coming up!

The resiliency of nature

Three weeks after Hurricane Maria, nature is rebounding. The island is turning green again. In my little corner, the hibiscus are in bloom, the avocado tree has started to put out new leaves, and though I lost my coconut trees, new ones are sprouting.

St. Croix has rivers?

Who knew?

Actually, it is not a river, just a gut. No, not a gutter, a gut. But it flows almost year round.

And at this point, for some reason, there is no culvert under the road.

Some big tree. I should find out the name.

And wow, I have forgotten the name of this flower.

I took these photos with my wanna be almost smart phone. Then I had to spend some time adding color, because the photos were so bad.
